The last two weeks have been events central! This journey to leadership is starting to feel like the Nova Scotia version of “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego”. Just like the in the context of the game, I am learning so much on every stop.
What a beautiful province filled with wonderful people! From Cape Chignecto Provincial Park (thank you Marchel for a great day) to Lawrencetown beach (hats off to Patricia and Lisa for amazing hospitality) ... our tour continued in full force this week.
Last week was highlighted by an amazing tour of around the eastern shore with Lisa Bonang and Patricia Auchnie. I have said it many times, the best way to truly learn about an area so to be taken on a tour by people who have passion for the community. Every question I had was answered showing true knowledge!
Patricia Auchnie is the candidate on record for the Eastern Shore and I am proud to have her endorsement. Patricia is passionate about Mental Health and Addiction and had valuable input into our new action plan to create a Department of Mental Health and Addictions.
I was happy to attend the Dartmouth East Annual General Meeting. This was the first AGM in over 30 years with a sitting MLA. I'm very proud of my friend Tim Halman and the team of excellent people he has surrounded himself with.

People are interested in talking about ideas and solutions. It is becoming more of “what can we do” compared to “what can’t we do”. This is giving me hope.
Bud and I have met some wonderful people. Ate some fantastic meals but I’ll still trying to hit that perfect spot - at the right time - to dig clams! It’s coming. We are getting close.
On Monday it was back to the church that Carol and I were married in (1995 if you are wondering) and where the kids were baptized. The occasion this time was a dinner and mini debate hosted by the Halifax Armdale PC Association (hats off to Michael and Paula and the gang on a great night).
Today, Cumberland South will name a new MLA. I’ve gotten to know Tory Rushton and my money is on him to win! He’s a fine man and a watching him handle questions in the final candidate debate, I know he is ready for Province House. I can’t wait to be standing beside him in the Legislature!
