Tim Halman, the Progressive Conservative MLA for Dartmouth East, has joined the growing list of PC Caucus members to back Tim Houston's bid for the PC leadership.
"Tim Houston has proven he cares about the grassroots of this party and has the skills needed to be the next leader of the PC Party of Nova Scotia," said Halman. "Tim has always made an effort to engage with my community and cares deeply about bringing new people into the PC Party."
Halman made his announcement on Thursday night at a fundraising dinner for the Dartmouth East PC Association.
“I am honoured and humbled that Tim Halman is putting his support and faith in me, and this campaign,” said Houston. “I thank him for his encouragement and most importantly, his friendship.”
Houston points to the energy that Tim Halman has brought to the PC Party,
“I’m partial of course to my wonderful campaign team back home, but I’ve got to say that the excitement and energy that came out of the Tim Halman campaign was infectious to party members across Nova Scotia," said Houston.
Halman joins the PC's two other MLAs in the HRM-region to back Houston. Last Saturday, Cole Harbour-Eastern Passage MLA Barbara Adams announced she endorses Houston's campaign. Brad Johns, MLA for Sackville-Beaver Bank, spoke in support of Houston at his leadership campaign launch on November 19th. Houston has also received the backing of fellow Pictou MLAs Karla MacFarlane and Pat Dunn.
